HICO is located in the Bomun Tourist Complex, which is the representative tourist complex in South Korea. ‘Hwabaek’ was a culture of an ancient Korean country Silla (country founded in 57 B.C.), which is a name for an aristocratic council based on unanimous resolution. The convention center area consists of 42,774 m², so various events and supplementary facilities take place here. Each room type in the convention hall has a different seating capacity. The theater has 3,500 seats, the classroom with 1,800 seats, and the banquet hall with 1,600.

It is a street usually called ‘Hwangnam Wide Street’ or ‘Hwangridan-gil’. This is a place full of traditional hanok style cafés, restaurants, and photo studios, so it is often visited by a lot of young people. It is also a great photo spot where you can rent and experience Korean traditional clothes like the ‘Hanbok’ and clothes from the ‘opendoor period’. Some of Gyeongju’s main tourist attractions are Daereungwon Tomb Complex and Cheomseongdae, these can both be visited easily as they are in walking distance.

There are 23 mounds in Hwangnam-dong Daereungwon Tomb Complex. The ancient burial tomb of the kings is located in the middle of downtown Gyeongju and their appearance makes them seem like regular hills. In Cheonmachong you are able to go inside of the tomb and take a better look, and Hwangnamdaechong is the largest ancient burial tomb in all of Gyeongju. You can enjoy the entire landscape of Hwangnam-dong Daereungwon at Hwangridan-gil located next to Daereungwon.

‘Donggung’ is a sub-palace site of Silla, which is a country that designated Gyeongju as its capital for 992 years. The meaning of the name ‘Wolji’ is ‘a pond which reflects the moon’. In 674, King Munmu created a pond and built three islands in the middle of the pond, then named it ‘Wolji’. It is a poplar tourist spot because of its beautiful night view which is perfectly reflected by the pond.

It is a training center designed after ‘9 Floored Wooden Tower in HwangNyong Temple’, which was a relic of Silla but has since been destroyed. It was constructed on an enormous scale of 80m inside the temple for the peace of Silla, but it was burnt down during the Mongol invasions in 1,238.
HwangNyongWon is a facility constructed for corporate training and education. There is a field with an area of 990㎡, 660㎡ large meeting room, and 45 guest rooms. It runs meditation, dharma talks, and Buddhist practice programs.

Hwangnam Bread is the iconic bread of Gyeongju with a history of roughly 80 years. This traditional bakery in Gyeongju has been passed down for 3 generations from grandfather to father and then to the grandson. Comb-pattern on the surface of the bread evokes the antique feelings of Silla.
It is a handmade bread using only red beans cultivated from Gyeongju. The bread is baked freshly using the kiln and is made under strict management to obtain its delicious taste.
